How does AI affect the political world?

First off, what even is AI?
AI, or artificial inteligence, is a computer system that can do tasks requiring human intelligence such as: problem solving, learn, decision making etc.
AI is a machine that replicates humans. It takes information from the internet and throws it all together, creating a text or message containing information from different articles and science papers (for example).

Now that we know what AI is, you might be wondering: how does it affect the world, specifically the political aspect of it?
While AI is revolutionary and has many positive aspects to it, it is public and anyone who wants can use it, which has a negative impact on climate, society and other aspects of our lives.

Let's quickly go over some points of the negative impact of AI on society:
- Many people will lose their jobs
- A lot of people rely on AI too much, making it harder for them to learn
- AI is powered by data, meaning it knows about us more than it probably should
Now the climate:
- produces more carbon waste than anthing else in exchange for a cooling system to continue working
- produces more electronic waste
- extracts a lot of recourses
Okay, now that we went over the facts about enviorenment and society, lets talk about the negative (and positive) impact it has on the political sphere:
AI is public, meaning it is open for anyone to use. That may have positive as well as negative impacts. People and politicians can use it to spread deepfakes and propaganda. What is it? You don't know what deepfakes and propaganda is? No problem, I got you!

Deepfakes: A video or image in which a persons face, body or voice is changed so they either appear to be someone else or say something they never did. .This can spread misinformation and with the growing quality of ai it is harder to see what is real and what is not.
Propaganda:Information that works as an advertisment, usually in a biased or misleading nature, about a particular cause, political party, or an opinion
The positive side of AI, though, is that political parties can use it to easier spread information, research about trends and sometimes even practice a speech with ai that later gives them feedback on how to present it better.

Personally, I think people should refrain from using AI because it has a great negative impact on our planet and enviorment but it is also pretty dangerous. As said earlier, people don't use it for its purpose but instead use it to spread misinformation about different topics. If AI is going to be used, I believe it is probably better if it isnt made public but used only by researches and scientists or it is used correctly: as a learning tool that helps you grow instead of stopping you.
