How can Europe build democratic resilience by 2050?

Democracy is facing a new era of challenges. Technological disruption, geopolitical tensions, disinformation and declining trust in institutions are reshaping the environment in which democratic societies operate.

Against this backdrop, the European Liberal Forum (ELF) Spring 2026 General Assembly, held in Vienna from 15–17 April 2026, brought together policymakers, researchers, civil society representatives and liberal thinkers from across Europe to explore this question.
